Melksham Celebrates New Play Park and Youth Advisory Board for a Thriving Community

In an exciting development for the community of Melksham, the town council has received funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to create a new play park on Awdrey Avenue. In addition to the new play park, Melksham Town Council is also set to launch a Youth Advisory Board, with a special event scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025. Open to all young people aged 14 to 18, and up to 25 for those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), the event will feature live performances from local bands, including the popular group, The Sunnies. Beyond entertainment, the event aims to engage young attendees in meaningful discussions about issues that matter to them and explore ways they can influence Melksham's future. Participants will have the opportunity to share their ideas, engage in discussions, and take part in interactive activities designed to empower them and amplify their voices within the community. This gathering will also facilitate connections among young people, local leaders, and community organizers, allowing attendees to discover how they can actively participate in shaping youth-focused initiatives in Melksham.
