To assist the impacted residents, the state plans to send out letters by January, outlining steps to access free credit monitoring services. This precautionary measure aims to protect individuals against potential identity theft and other repercussions stemming from the breach. Furthermore, to facilitate communication and support for those affected, the state has engaged Experian to operate a toll-free hotline. This resource will provide information relating to the breach and guidance on safeguarding personal data. The hotline will be available for inquiries from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., and on weekends from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., although it will be closed on major holidays.
