Gurugram's 700-Bed Hospital Project Takes Shape with Key Review Meeting by CM Saini

In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services in Gurugram, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini convened a review meeting on Tuesday to assess the construction progress of a 700-bed civil hospital. This ambitious project, part of the state's efforts to bolster medical infrastructure, is set to be constructed on a sprawling 7.73 acres of land in Civil Lines, with an estimated investment of approximately Rs 990 crore. During the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Sudhir Rajpal, provided a detailed update on the construction plans. The proposed hospital will feature a modern 13-storey building comprising a basement, ground floor, and 11 levels dedicated to patient care. Notably, the facility will be equipped with 60 ICU beds and 12 operation theatres, along with an emergency helipad, ensuring that it is well-prepared to handle critical medical situations. In a strategic move to accommodate the hospital's future needs while ensuring public access, the state government is considering the relocation of a nearby government school, currently occupying 1.5 acres of land. The plan suggests transferring the school to a more spacious 2.5-acre plot owned by the Education Department, allowing for expanded facilities at the hospital. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring that the school continues its operations in the existing building until the new structure is completed. Saini urged officials to adhere to the project's timeline and to ensure that the hospital's design and facilities align with the evolving medical needs of Gurugram’s growing population. He also called for the new school building to be constructed in a multi-story format, further promoting efficient land use in the area. This meeting was attended by a number of key figures, including Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh, Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao, and various MLAs representing the Gurugram region.
