The municipality's Health Secretariat will launch a new edition of the "Health in Your Neighborhood" program, which will begin next week in two important locations in the city: the Las Heras Sports Complex and the Firefighters' Canchita Plaza. This initiative aims to bring a variety of comprehensive health services closer to the community, promoting the prevention and treatment of various health conditions. The program will be available from Monday, January 13, to Friday, January 17, with extended hours from 9 AM to 2 PM. At the Las Heras Sports Complex, located at Fortunato de la Plaza 8438, residents will have access to a range of services, including dental, pediatric, and ophthalmological check-ups. There will also be HIV and syphilis testing, as well as routine vaccinations, flu shots, and COVID-19 vaccinations. The Health Secretariat will manage appointments for the different specialties available at the Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS) and will offer awareness talks on relevant topics, such as dengue. The program will also include pediatric dentistry workshops for children, which will take place on Thursday and Friday, aimed at educating parents about the importance of oral health in young children. Additionally, as part of this initiative, mental health counseling will be provided, and rabies vaccinations for animals will be carried out. Sterilizations will take place on Wednesday and Friday, and it is important for those interested to arrive at the Las Heras Community Society before 8 AM, as only one animal per person will be accepted to ensure equitable access to this service. On the other hand, the Firefighters' Canchita Plaza, located at Florisbelo Acosta 3091, will be another venue for "Health in Your Neighborhood." Here, as in the Sports Complex, HIV and syphilis testing will be conducted, along with necessary vaccinations. There will also be talks on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, responsible pet ownership, and dengue prevention. Similarly, the program offers pediatric dentistry workshops and dental check-ups, which will take place on Monday and Tuesday of next week. On Friday, time will be allocated for rabies vaccinations, ensuring the health of the residents' pets. The comprehensive approach of this program aims not only to address health issues but also to educate the community about prevention and care. Additionally, a third service of the "Health in Your Neighborhood" program will be located at the Las Heras Sports Complex, where health promotion activities will take place. On Tuesday, there will be a workshop on the prevention and management of non-communicable chronic diseases, along with a survey on risk factors. On Wednesday, the focus will be on healthy eating, with a talk that will include nutritional counseling and food preparation. Mobile dental clinics will be part of this health offering, operating at the Firefighters' Canchita Plaza on Monday and Tuesday and moving to the Las Heras Sports Complex from Wednesday to Friday. This clinic will provide care for children, adults, and pregnant women, conducting oral check-ups and low to medium complexity procedures. The importance of this program lies in its ability to reach different sectors of the community, facilitating access to essential services that, in many cases, may be unattainable for certain groups of the population. The Health Secretariat emphasizes that prevention is key to maintaining the health and well-being of citizens. Finally, the municipality invites all residents to participate in this initiative, which aims not only to address immediate health needs but also to promote a healthier lifestyle and greater awareness of the importance of prevention in public health. With the commitment to bring health services to every corner of the city, "Health in Your Neighborhood" consolidates itself as a fundamental program for community well-being.
