The Municipality of Mar del Plata has launched a new edition of its "Health in Your Neighborhood" program, which will be held at two key locations in the city: the Canchita de los Bomberos Plaza and the Las Heras Sports Complex. This initiative, driven by the Health Secretariat, aims to provide accessible health services to the community, complementing the care offered daily at the 34 Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS). From Monday, January 13, to Friday, January 17, citizens will have access to a wide range of health services at the Las Heras Sports Complex, located at Fortunato de la Plaza 8438. The service hours will be from 9 AM to 2 PM, and various activities will take place, including HIV and Syphilis testing, as well as routine vaccinations, flu shots, and Covid vaccinations. Appointments for different specialties at the CAPS will also be managed, and awareness talks about dengue will be held. The services are not limited to physical health, as mental health counseling will be offered, along with rabies vaccinations for animals, reflecting a comprehensive approach that addresses the growing concern for pet welfare. Additionally, dental check-ups will be conducted from Wednesday to Friday, along with pediatric dentistry workshops aimed at educating children about the importance of oral health. Meanwhile, the Canchita de los Bomberos Plaza, located at Florisbelo Acosta 3091, will also host a Health in Your Neighborhood initiative. This space, open at the same hours, will offer similar services, including HIV and Syphilis testing, vaccinations, and appointments for the CAPS. Training sessions on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), animal care, and dengue prevention will also be among the topics addressed, reaffirming the Municipality's commitment to education and prevention. Another highlighted component of this initiative is the mobile dental clinic, which will provide services at both locations. From Monday, January 13, to Tuesday, January 14, it will be located at the Canchita de los Bomberos Plaza, and from Wednesday, January 15, to Friday, January 17, it will move to the Las Heras Sports Complex. This clinic, which does not require prior appointments, will focus on dental care for all ages, from children to adults, offering services ranging from oral check-ups to early detection of oral cancer. Comprehensive care is a distinguishing feature of the program, which not only encompasses physical health but also nutrition and disease prevention. On Tuesday, a workshop on the prevention and management of non-communicable chronic diseases will be held at the sports complex, aiming to raise community awareness about the risk factors associated with these conditions. On Wednesday, a talk on healthy eating, along with nutritional counseling and food preparation, will be offered in an effort to promote healthier lifestyle habits among the population. Management of appointments for the CAPS and blood pressure checks will also be integrated into this programming. The "Health in Your Neighborhood" program presents an effective response to the need for medical attention in the community, allowing health services to reach those who need them most. Direct interaction with health professionals in an accessible and friendly environment promotes not only physical well-being but also the mental and social well-being of citizens. Those interested in obtaining more information about the health services can visit the Municipality's official website, where the schedule and services offered are detailed. The invitation to participate is open to everyone, with the goal of building a healthier community committed to caring for their health and that of their loved ones.
