According to data from the CDC, 61 cases of avian influenza in humans have been confirmed this year, primarily among workers in poultry and dairy farms. Brignardello highlighted the importance of this data, pointing out that "the direct relationship between agricultural work and the risk of infection is a critical factor to consider." This underscores the need for not only workers but also employers to be aware of the necessary precautions to prevent infections. The advisor also commented on the nature of the H5N1 virus, which has shown an alarming ability to mutate and adapt.
